QUALITY TEST, AT IT’S BEST!

A radiator is important because it is the chief way your engine vents heat during operation. A malfunctioning radiator may cause significant engine damage caused by overheating - most cars you see billowing smoke on the side of the road are actually caused by malfunctioning radiators! Hence, a quality engine needs a quality radiator, and for a quality radiator you need GEW RADIATORS.

With the finest quality raw material imported from Sweden, GEW never compromises on its quality standards. Every radiator is comprised of numerous minute loose parts. These parts are also checked and inspected to ensure 100% perfection at each level of manufacturing.  We have quality supervisors at every department to inspect every step of manufacturing and assembly. Every radiator before being packed goes under strict inspection and testing procedure twice.

Below explained are some of the various testing procedures we conduct for each unit of radiator manufactured at GEW.

·       Leak Test:
For leak test, it is made sure that the radiator is clean and dry on its inside. Air is then blown inside the radiator.  All the inlet and outlet pipes are then blocked with a rubber stopper to ensure no water goes in.  Once this is done, the radiator is then sunk deep in water and is kept inside for 3 to 5 minutes and is observed for any bubbles in the water. If any bubbles are produced, the direction of bubbles gives the exact location of leak. This radiator is then sent back again to the inspection team. This test is conducted twice  on each radiator.

                                           Leak testing in the industry

·       Paint Test:
Automotive paint is expected to put up with a lot over the course of its lifetime. It needs to endure through dings, scratches, smudges, hand prints, nasty weather and so much more. It must be durable and long-lasting if it’s going to keep performing well over the course of your vehicle’s lifespan. To ensure this, physical and mechanical tests are done on the painted surfaces. They involve the testers literally attempting to physically damage the paint to see how well it holds up. The method used for this purpose is cross hatch test.

·       Resistance to Corrosion:
Corrosion is a very real concern for both, the radiator and the vehicle. During its lifespan
radiators are
likely come into contact with high levels of chemicals, which cause the paint to damage and the material to corrode and rust. Rust decreases the lifespan of the radiator by 50 percent. This corrosion results from salt or other chemicals sitting on the paint’s surface for an extended period of time — all while coupled with extreme weather conditions, in many cases.

To best replicate these types of conditions and contaminants, these are a few of the                 tests that are used:

§     Neutral salt spray test

§     Cyclic corrosion test

§     Continuous condensation in hot and humid conditions

§     Water immersion resistance test

All the above tests are conducted at the manufacturing units of GEW Radiators. It is only after the completion of each test that the final product is sent for packaging. Based on all these tests, a PDI (Pre Dispatch Inspection) Report is made, as per the instructions by IATF.

After going through so many rigorous and strict quality tests, at GEW we assure 100 percent quality radiator at its best.
